Description
This training session is a three-day instructor-led technical course
that provides you the knowledge to design,
install, and maintain a wireless mesh network both as and add-on to an
existing wireless LAN and as a new installation. The class does cover
the latest controller firmware version 4.2.
Laptops are provided to
participate in the hands-on labs. If you desire to use your own laptop,
please bring a laptop computer with an available 32-bit CardBus slot
and an Ethernet port as well as an internal wireless NIC, 802.11a/b/g.
The laptop’s operating systems must be either MS Windows 2000 (SP4) or
XP. The laptop should also have a 9-pin serial port or USB to serial
adapter. IN ADDITION, you will need administrator rights to the laptop
to install drivers for the wireless client used in class. Objectives
After completing this course the student should be able to:
- Review basic controller configuration and wireless LAN configuration
- Explore how to create a mesh network
- Examine the requirements necessary for designing a wireless mesh network
- Demonstrate how to install access points
- Explore various verification and troubleshooting tools and commands

- Cisco Unified Wireless Networking (CUWN)

The Cisco Aironet Mesh Networking course is
designed for Cisco Wireless Specialized Partners with experience in
outdoor RF environments, data networking, WLAN topologies and Radio
Frequency technologies. This technical training is designed for
individuals who are responsible for designing, installing, or
maintaining a wireless mesh
network or supporting customer wireless LAN networks. |
