Description
The High-Density Media Gateway Configuration and
Operations course Version 3.0 is a lecture-lab course focusing on the
implementation of the MGX 8880 and MGX 8850-PXM45 media gateways
(MGX-MG) based on the Voice Switch Service Module (VXSM) in both
switched VoIP and VoATM trunking applications. Typically, the HMGCO
course is delivered for either VoIP or VoATM applications; it is rarely
delivered for both. Objectives
After completing this course the student should be able to:
- Describe the overall role, function and operation of the MGX-MG as
a system component in each of the solutions applications requiring
either VoIP switched or VoAAL2 trunked operations.
- Given an existing network and application scenario, verify
that the MGX-MG is equipped with the appropriate hardware and software
to fulfill the stated requirement.
- Given a set of node-specific parameters, successfully bring
up a previously-installed MGX-MG for basic standalone operation, and /
or, in the case where the MGX-MG forms part of an ATM, IP, or ATM+IP
network, establish and validate network communications.
- Given a set of specific customer requirements, provision appropriate services on VXSM, AXSM, and RPM service modules.
- Once traffic has been established, monitor and verify the proper operation of the configured services.
