Description
In this intense course, you'll get the skills
necessary to deploy a Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP) network,
including fiber-cleaning techniques, fiber test requirements, and node
turn-up. You will learn to deploy linear and ring dense
wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) topologies.
In this course, you'll cover multiplexer and
demultiplexer cards, amplifier cards, transponder cards, and how they
are used in terminal, amplifier, OADM, and ROADM node configurations.
Using Cisco TransportPlanner, you will design a DWDM network and use
the output to configure the Cisco ONS MSTP Node. In this MSTP basic
training course, you will also cover linear and ring topologies and
protected and unprotected DWDM circuits. Objectives
This course prepares the learners for these tasks by meeting the following objectives:
- Connect and configure a Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP chassis
- Identify node configurations according to card population
- Characterize the role of CTP in turning up an MSTP network
- Provision DWDM circuits using Cisco Transport Controller
- Perform performance monitoring, alarm verification, and fault isolation
- Isolate "optical" network issues
Prerequisites
Familiarity with the following topics is recommended.
- ICND1
- ICND2
- Familiarity with the Cisco ONS 15454 family
- Knowledge of SONET or SDH structure and hierarchy
- Knowledge of DWDM basics
- Experience using optical test equipment
Who Should Attend
The audience for this course is as follows:
- Network professionals responsible for installation, deployment, and maintenance of the Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP
- Network operations, planners, and designers
