Description
The Cisco ONS 15454 is a fast and powerful yet
easy-to-use optical platform that lowers the cost and increases the
efficiency of bandwidth delivery within optical transport networks. In
this instructor-led course, you'll get hands-on training on a 6-node
ONS 15454 system. Working in small groups of up to 3 people per node,
you will complete a wide range of tasks covering many system features
and functions. Over 50 percent of classroom time will be in hands-on
labs, and each student has the opportunity to participate in every lab.
Lab exercises rely on the Cisco ONS 15454 User Documentation for
references to specific procedures. This class incorporates the use of a
DS3 test set to test DS3 circuits. You will test circuits using a hard
loop, terminal loop, and facilities loop.
This class does not cover the DWDM features of the
ONS 15454; however, those features are covered in the Cisco ONS 15454
MSTP courses, ONS Basic & ONS Data.
This class does not cover the advanced features and
capabilities of the ML card; however, they are covered in the Cisco ONS
15454 ML-Series Metro Optical Ethernet (OMSSA) course. Objectives
This course prepares the learners for these tasks by meeting the following objectives:
- Identify the major components and functions of the Cisco ONS 15454 System
- Install hardware and software
- Provision a Node and Circuit
- Identify types of IP addressing and common IP addressing scenarios
- Test circuits with a DS3 test set
- Provision various types of Ethernet Circuits
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting
- Provision an ML card to create Layer 2 and Layer 3 circuits
- Provision a BLSR, UPSR, Linear (1+1), and RPR configurations
- Intro to Cisco IOS commands
